This includes all results from the World Masters Games in Sydney, Australia.  Rankings are also updated on the OMA website.  Many thanks to those you have sent corrections or results that were missing.  If there are any mistakes or missing results please send them to me by November 15th after which the 2009 Outdoor Rankings will be closed.
  •  World Masters Games Sydney, Australia Oct 11-18 - There were lots of great performances by Canadians downunder.  Doug Smith has prepared an excellent summary of all Canadian results on the OMA site.  Full results are available at World Masters Games Results courtesy of New South Wales Athletics.
  •  WMA Rules Changes - New Age Grading Tables will become effective May 1, 2010.  There is a good discussion on the development of these tables on Ken Stone's Mastertrack.com blog  We have the new tables and are working on comparing results of the WAVA2006 tables with the new version.  For the Throws Pentathlon, it looks like the younger groups (35-45) will see some increase in points, the middle group (50-60) will have a slight reduction but it seems to reduce the points the most in the older age groups (65+) and especially 85+.   More to come on this.... The other major change is for Women's age groups: W75+:   Shot and hammer reduced from 3kg to 2kg; discus from 1kg to 0.75km; weight  reduced to 4kg.
  •  World Masters Rankings 2009 are now posted at http://www.mastersathletics.net/  The site also has added an All Time World Rankings list.  This site by Martin Gasselsberger is excellent & has a lot of information about many great Masters athletes from all over the world.
